Natural protection against ticks begins with the right clothing. Therefore, put on bright clothes that will help you notice ticks. Wear long pants, preferably with an elastic band or a welt at the bottom. Put in a long -sleeved shirt and be sure to cover your neck – you can use a scarf. Footwear should be covered and high. Pull your pants into the socks to prevent ticks from accessing the skin. Reach for specialized funds. There are plenty of repellents on the market to protect against mosquitoes and ticks, but many of them contain a lot of unhealthy chemical substances. Therefore, instead of spraying yourself and animals with preparations from the drugstore, it is better to prepare a home remedy based on herbal lifts, e.g. lemon balm, rosemary or thyme. That is why it is worth preparing an infusion from them, which will be used to scare off these arachnids. We brew a teaspoon of dried rosemary and thyme in 100 ml of water. After an hour, strain, add a few drops of lemon juice and pour into the atomizer. With such a preparation we can spray ourselves, but also a dog or cat. Another effective, home -made tick -free preparation will be a tansy infusion. The tansy due to its intense smell was often used in funeral rituals. The herb put in the casket was to protect the body of the deceased against worms. The plant is rich in essential oils that ticks, moths, ants, aphids and many other pests hate. A home preparation from tansy will protect us not only from ticks, but also mosquitoes. To make a mixture, three tablespoons of crushed dried flowers are enough. You need to pour two glasses of boiling water, cover and set aside for half an hour. We grease the body with a cooled tea. In the same way, we can protect a dog or cat from ticks. Park oils are also available on the market, which can be mounted with water and also create an agent against ticks and chambers.
Protection against ticks. Who do the ticks attack and which smells attract them?
Ticks are small arachnids that can pose a serious threat to human and animal health. They are carriers of diseases such as Lyme disease or tick -borne encephalitis. To protect yourself from ticks, you need to know their habits. According to the sanitary and epidemic station in Ostrów Mazowieckie, ticks can be found on the outskirts of the forests, along with the adjacent green use, on glades, riverside meadows and swamps, in deciduous forests, high grasses, home gardens, plots and city parks. During the day, ticks are most active from the first dew to noon, and then from 16:00 until dark. At a temperature below 4 degrees Celsius, ticks fall into lethargy. They sleep adverse weather conditions in litter. In addition, according to research of scientists from Masaryk University in Brno, ticks are most likely to prick people with blood group A (36 % of cases), and the least frequent ones that have blood type B (15 % of cases). Ticks are also lured by sweat and the scent of vanilla and coconut, so it’s better not to use cosmetics with these fragrances. To reduce the risk of bites, avoid sitting on the grass, especially in high vegetation. Come on the seized paths, avoiding direct contact with plants. After each trip, check your body and clothes thoroughly, especially around the legs, neck, behind the ears and in skin folds.
