The mayor () met with councilors of his base, on Tuesday (25), and expressed the position contrary to the proposal to grant.
The meeting between Nunes and the bench leaders who make up their base had moments of tension. And practically sealed the end of the articulation of the councilors to prepare a bill to institute the model in the São Paulo legislature.
Nunes showed that he was contrary to any text and even demonstrated dissatisfaction with the fact that the (Municipal Civil Guard) for Municipal Police.
For the mayor, the imposing amendment tends to benefit the opposition and should only have the endors of their enemies in the house.
In the discussion, Nunes asked the councilors to “open their hearts”. He was then impatient and even exalted when Republicans leader Samson Pereira tried to convince him of the importance of the model for parliamentarians’ activities.
The councilors tried to justify the mayor that the discussion for the amendments only entered the agenda because there is a consensus and interest of almost everyone in their approval.
Last week, as a way to mobilize the councilors of the situation and try to cool the debate on the imposing amendments, the government leader at the House, Fábio Riva (MDB), had already communicated to bank leaders that a portion of $ 2.5 million parliamentary amendments was already available.
With the transfer of R $ 2.5 million in this first quarter, the councilors are hopeful to end the year with R $ 5 million in amendments, the same amount that was transferred in 2024.
Before Ricardo Nunes had difficulty approving GCM’s name change to Municipal Police, the government was considering paying a maximum of R $ 3 million in amendment for each councilman.
