The leader of the House, (RJ), sent a letter on Tuesday (25) to the office of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, (Supreme Federal Court), requesting authorizing to visit Walter Braga Netto in prison.
The reserve general, former vice on (PL) plate in 2022, has been arrested since last December, charged with the 2022 coup plot.
The PF (Federal Police) investigation indicates Braga Netto’s centrality in the coup plan and even the murder of authorities. The defense denies the accusations.
Sostenes says they are “close friends for many years,” and cites the law of criminal executions, which authorizes visits by spouses, relatives and friends.
“I request, through this, visit to the reserve general Mr. Walter Souza Braga Netto, preemptively prisoner in the 1st Division of the Army, subordinate to the East Military Command, located in the Military Village, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro/RJ, based on article 41 of the Criminal Execution Law (Law No. 7,210, of July 11, 1984) says the craft.
Braga Netto’s trial, as well as Bolsonaro and other accused, began on Tuesday (25) at the STF.
The defenses of the former president and the general defended the nullity of the denunciation in the face of the contradictions of the former president of the presidency.
But, like four other preliminaries raised by the defendants’ defenses, they were rejected. They had also asked the case to send to the Supreme Plenary – the minister was overcome at this point. The trial will be resumed on Wednesday (26) with the vote of the merits of the complaint.
As the panel showed, the minister’s criticism to those who “represent no denunciation” animated the defense of accused by the 2022 coup plot.
The lawyer José Luis Oliveira Lima, defender of the general, states that this assessment and divergence about the trial in the plenary, in which the minister was a vote for a vote, represent a light for the accused and hope for the defense.
For him, Fux’s lines had a reflection on the speeches of Minister Cármen Lúcia and the minister, president of the board.
