Washington-Aaron Gruen, who lives in the USA, ran a new ÖLV record on Sunday at the McKirdy Marathon in the state of New York in 2:09:51 hours. The 26-year-old improved Peter Herzog’s previous record by 2020 by 15 seconds. According to ÖLV, Gruen has had Austrian citizenship since 2022 because he is a descendant of Jewish World War II refugees from Vienna.
