He returned to demonstrate his love for Brazil this Saturday night (29), at 2025. The Canadian singer was the main attraction of the second day of festival and made a very similar presentation to Rock in Rio 2024, but marked by many “I love you” and “thanks”, thrill of the singer and the public, a cover of but that nothing and even a small reference to actress Fernanda Torres.

The script was very similar to Rock in Rio 2024, when he last passed the country, only six months ago, but that did not take the thrill of the presentation. At that moment, Shawn was returning from a break to take care of mental health and chose Brazil for his great return. This time, he reaffirmed his devotion to Brazilian fans, not sparing praise to the public.

“Sao Paulo, how are you?” He shouted in Portuguese amid the opening with There’s Nothing Holding Me Back. Then, in one of the first interactions with the audience, he said something in the lines of “no matter where we go to the world, love and support is never the same as we have here, in Brazil.” The fans, of course, returned – in Wonder and Treat You Better, the choir was already very impressive

The news for the coming in this Lollapalooza was the release of the November Shawn album. Even so, he only played three songs from the album, preferring to keep a more balanced setlist with the most famous songs. Fair. In Heart of Gold, he repeated a story that told Rock in Rio, about a friend who died and how the grief hit him years later. At this point, something very beautiful happened: the fans closest to the stage raised a yellow balloons in the form of tribute.

Shawn kept that sincere smile throughout the presentation at the end of Ruin, went down to the crowd and hugged the fans, something that repeated twice. He took a Brazilian flag, which was hung on the instruments for the rest of the show, and also completed the transparent shirt look with a cowboy hat presented by a fan.

It thrilled with Never Be Alone, with videos from the beginning of her career on the big screen, and went to the best moment of the show, which started with Youth. Shawn remembered when he played here in 2019, in a show in which he protested against climate change. Then, invited Brazilian musicians to the stage, who finished the song in samba rhythm.

Then came the cover of but nothing, with the help of the audience. In the end, the singer released, in Portuguese, “Life Pays on”. The phrase was famous after being said by Fernanda Torres on Instagram video celebrating the Golden Globe nomination for the movie I’m still here.

Shawn Mendes still sang Stitches, it’ll be okay, if i can’t have you and why Why why before ending with In My Blood, who even had fireworks. The demonstrations of affection grew the show and contributed to avoid a “repeat” without any news. It also helps the fact that Shawn is in the most mature phase of his career so far, with solid band, good arrangements and proving a great vocalist. The good reception here is by merit and I like to see an artist value it.
