PARIS, FRANCE (Folhapress)-France’s pre-candidate Marine Le Pen is ineligible for a period yet to be determined after being sentenced, this Monday (31), due to the diversion of funds from the European Parliament to the cash of his party, the National Meeting (RN).
Another eight European deputies of the RN were also convicted. The sentences were read by the Court
Correctional of Paris, in the presence of the leader of the French ultra -right. The damage to the public coffers would have reached € 2.9 million (about R $ 18 million).
Le Pen is a leader in the polls for the 2027 presidential election. She was defeated by Emmanuel Macron in the second round in the 2017 and 2022 claims.
