After Hungarian airline, Wizzair, advanced with a loyalty program, it’s up to Ryanair to announce the launch of “Prime”, an annual subscription program that promises exclusive advantages for its most frequent customers. With a cost of 79 euros per year, the company guarantees subscribers access to monthly discounts, free places and travel insurance at no additional cost.
According to Ryanair, this program can represent a significant economy for regularly traveling passengers. Those who perform 12 flights per year can save up to five times the signature value, reaching a total of 420 euros for benefits. Even those traveling only three times a year can get a 105 euros savings.
Ryanair wants to ‘reward’ frequent customers
The number of registrations for “Prime” is limited to 25 thousand adhesions and will be made available on a registration order. The initiative aims to reward customers who choose Ryanair often, ensuring them exclusive advantages throughout the year.
Dara Brady, airline’s marketing director, stresses that Ryanair has led the industry in accessible tariffs for four decades. The launch of “Prime” arises, according to the official, as a ‘natural’ step in the company’s strategy to reinforce its position in the European market.
The company points out that “Prime” guarantees subscribers exclusive access to 12 annual ticket sales, one per month. However, it does not specify the exact discount level applied to each flight, referring only to potential savings in the total of the year.
You can choose the place at no cost
Program members will also be able to choose places reserved at no additional costs. This advantage can be particularly attractive to those who prefer to ensure specific seats without extra charges.

In addition, free travel insurance is another of the benefits included in the Prime. Ryanair does not detail insurance specific coverage, but points out that it will be valid for all flights made by the program subscribers.
The launch of the program emerges in a context of growing competition in the low cost aviation sector. With this initiative, Ryanair intends to build customer loyalty and reinforce the attractiveness of their offers, especially among those who travel frequently.
There is a limit on the number of adhesions to the loyalty program
Limitation to 25,000 signatures suggests that the company intends to test the acceptance of the “Prime” before eventually expanding the initiative. The company has not revealed whether it intends to increase this limit in the future if the adhesion is high.
The annual cost of 79 euros can be quickly recovered by those traveling regularly. However, for occasional passengers, adherence to the program may not be so advantageous as it will always depend on the frequency and average cost of the tickets purchased.
Airline wants to offer the lowest prices on the market
Ryanair stresses that “Prime” is an obvious choice for those looking to maximize savings on frequent trips. The company reiterates that it is still committed to offering the lowest prices on the market, now with additional benefits to subscribers.
Interested parties can join the program through the airline officer. Registration is available for a limited time and subject to the maximum number of adhesions stipulated by Ryanair.
With this new offer, Ryanair reinforces its strategy of providing affordable tariffs combined with exclusive advantages. The success of the “Prime” will depend on the adhesion of passengers and the real impact of savings offered throughout the year.
