Bank rules out rumors that it would have offered R $ 1 by the institution; BRB announced on Friday (28.mar) the purchase of Banco Master
Denied having made a proposal to buy the Master Bank. In a statement to CVM (Securities Commission), André Esteves Bank ruled out rumors that it would have offered R $ 1 by the institution.
“BTG Pactual has never made a proposal for the acquisition of assets or participation in Banco Master’s share capital”said the statement, signed by Renato Cohn, director of investor relations.
The bank also stressed that it regularly evaluates market opportunities, provided they are advantageous to shareholders and approved by regulators.
The (Bank of Brasilia) on Friday (28.mar) the purchase of Banco Master. The state financial institution and belonging to the Federal District Government, based in Brasilia, states that the measure is a strategy of expansion and strengthening its position in the financial market.

“In compliance with the transcribed letter, which requests updated information about news published on this date in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, Market Section, under the title:“ BTG can enter the Banco Master’s asset sales transaction ”, it is used to inform that:
“As already mentioned in the market statement released on April 1, 2024, BTG Pactual continuously monitors opportunities for consolidation in the financial market that can generate value to its shareholders and have the support of regulators. It also clarifies that transactions similar to that mentioned in that news are part of the ordinary course of their activities, being routinely coordinated by their specialized teams.
“In relation specifically the news in question, which refers to a possible transaction involving the Master Bank, it is necessary to inform that BTG Pactual has never made a proposal for the acquisition of assets or participation in the capital of Banco Master.
“For this reason, BTG Pactual understands that there was no reason that configured a relevant fact, under the terms of the current regulation.”
