The cause in this process were messages published in the former social network X, attributed to Mário Machado and Ricardo Pais – also condemned in this process – in which they appealed to the “forced prostitution” of the women of leftist parties, and who in particular aimed Renata Cambra.
According to the decision to which Lusa had access, the TC decided on Tuesday not to accept the Regarding the decision of this Court not to admit the appeal to consider the conviction of the first instance, dated May 7 of last year.

Mário Machado appealed to the TC in December 2024 – which suspended the fulfillment of the effective sentence to which he was sentenced – but this Court considered not accepting the appeal, since the object referred to by the defense was not encompassed in his competences.
The appeal to the Constitutional Court came after the Court of Appeal confirmed the penalty of the first instance and rejected Mario Machado’s allegations that the statements on trial were a “mood exercise.”
