The Special Border Group (Gefron), linked to Acre’s Secretariat of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp), announced on Wednesday (2) the balance of their actions during the first three months of 2025. Operations reflect the concentrated effort of security forces in coping with crime in strategic areas of the state.

Between January and March, 50 occurrences were counted, of which 15 were related to drug trafficking and 25 others to the crime of misleading – illegal entry of legalized products in the country. As a result, Gefron seized 26,256 packages of smuggled cigarettes and recovered 18 vehicles that had been subtracted from their owners.
The repression of drug trafficking also had significant numbers: 225 kilos of drugs were removed from circulation in the period. The operations also led to the conduct or arrest of 30 people suspected of involvement in various criminal practices.

Gefron coordinator Assis dos Santos highlighted the commitment of the teams as a decisive factor for the result achieved. “This is the reflection of the continuous and committed work of our agents, who act firmly to combat illegal activities in the border region,” he said.
Already the State Secretary of Justice and Public Security, José Américo Gaia, stressed the importance of integrated performance. “The data demonstrate the commitment of security forces to the protection of the population. Our focus is to continue investing in articulated strategies and strengthen cooperation between the organs to keep Acre safer,” he said.
Gefron’s actions remain uninterrupted in border regions, considered sensitive routes for trafficking and smuggling, and are an essential part of the state public security policy.
