The camera was there, ready to fire if the mythical monster of the Ness Lake appeared. He fired the same, but from the monster there are no records. However, a new alleged sighting again activated the search.

The submarine affectionately nicknamed (is actually called David Attenborough) is already a classic. It is worth almost 300 million euros and conducts marine investigation by the National Oceanography Center.

Now, he was responsible for the finding, for a chance, of a historical relic: the photographs captured by the House that 55 years ago was installed at the bottom of Lake Ness, in Scotland, in search of the mythical monster Nessie.

Adrian Shine, a lake researcher, says it was “an ingenious photographic trap that consisted of a House Instamatic with clock and an incorporated flash cubethat allowed you to take four photographs when a line of bait was launched. ”

“It is remarkable that Caixa has kept the chamber dry during the last 55 yearsbeing more than 130 meters deep in the Ness Lake, ”he adds in statements to and, curiously, it was only found because the tie of the chamber was trapped in the submarine propeller.

“It has been over 90 years since Nessie’s first sighting, and since then there has been a lot of expeditions to find the dodge animal,” says Nagina Ishaq, director-general of the Loch Ness Center.

“We are guardians of this unique story and, in addition to investing in the creation of an unforgettable experience for visitors, we are committed to helping to continue the search and unravel the mysteries that are under the waters of the famous Loch,” he says.

And the center takes the opportunity to emphasize the importance of submarine in mapping and discoveries under the sea: “With our robots, we are also helping to map and monitor marine life to understand how our actions, such as the development of offshore renewable energy, fishing and mining exploration in deep water, alter habitats and ecosystems.”

New “sighting” in analysis

The discovery arises at a time when a sighting of the legendary creature was again reported. For the first time spotted 90 years ago, the Ness Lake Monster remains topic in 2025.

Aimee Todd, the center’s marketing director, said a new photographyallegedly the mysterious monster, it is under review after being sent on January 29 by a man who will have captured her at Praia de Dores, Scotland.

In May, the center will start a Massive Search for Nessie. It’s called “The Quest” and the volunteer will watch 13 different areas of the lake for more than 6 hours, and make use of a hydrophones to detect submarine acoustic signals. 100 years later, Nessie remains a mystery: what this legendary creature will be.
