The order of Maria da Graça Carvalhowhich authorizes the slaughter of a thousand cork oaks in Condeixa-a-Nova, considers the construction of the three solar parks that will occupy this area of ​​essential public utility. But now, responsibility is attributed to the previous government.

Speaking to journalists, the minister stressed that “as a person” does not like the slaughter of any tree and asked investors that in the future find locations for projects that do not imply the cutting of trees.

“As an environmental minister and as a person, I do not like to slaughter overflies or any tree. There are several projects that come from the past, which were considered projects of national interest, with private investment. The Portuguese State is a good state and we commit to all the commitments on the table,” said the ruler.

The investment is over 18 million euros. The company responsible for the project is committed to planting more than seven thousand trees to compensate for the slaughtered cork oaks.
