60% of MEI plan to invest in their business in 2025

Sebrae and FGV search shows optimism between microentrepreneurs to buy equipment and improvement of facilities

A survey conducted by in collaboration with FGV (Getulio Vargas Foundation) released on Wednesday (2.br.2025) indicates that approximately 60% of MEIs (individual micro -entrepreneurs) in Brazil intend to invest in their business in 2025. Own business owners should invest in the purchase of machines, equipment and improving physical facilities.

In the service sector, about 50% of entrepreneurs have plans to invest in machinery and equipment, while 46% aim to improve marketing and dissemination of their business. In commerce, almost 40% of MEIs aim to acquire machinery and equipment, and 38% want to increase working capital.

The North and Midwest regions have the highest investment intentions, with 67.6% of microentrepreneurs planning to invest, followed by the Northeast, with 67%.

In the Northeast, 39.5% of entrepreneurs also intend to increase working capital. Marketing and dissemination are priority in the Southeast, with 44.7% of entrepreneurs planning to invest in these services.

“We resume growth and reduce unemployment. Income transfer already drives the country’s economy. An entrepreneur who has confidence in the economy and success of his own business sees investment as a safe way to expand production, generate more employment and income.”said Decio Lima, president of Sebrae.
