The governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), announced this Friday (4) his. The launch was held in Salvador (BA), during an event in which the politician received the title of “Bahian Citizen” and the “Commendation of July 2”.
“Our goal here is to launch this preview to the Brazilian population. This was the decision of União Brasil: walking with time for people to know our work. Those who know the government of Caiado vote in Caiado,” said the Goian governor.
“Goiás had the four most violent cities in Brazil when Caiado took over the government. And it was at that time, in front of my troop, in possession to state governor, who said the first commandment of Governor Ronaldo Caiado: either the bandit changes by profession or the bandit changes state,” said the governor and now presidential candidate.
The event was attended by Senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR), as well as the mayor of Salvador, Bruno Reis, and former Mayor ACM Neto. Also participating were the mayor of Goiânia, Sandro Mabel, and leaders of the party that seized support for the pre-candidacy.
Despite being little known nationally, Caiado has a well-evaluated management in Goiás. According to genius survey/Quaest released on Thursday (3), 86% of Goianos approve their government and only 9% disapprove. In a second round scenario against Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), Caiado would have 30% of voting intentions, against 44% of the current president.

The low national projection, however, is the biggest challenge of your campaign. With a state of only 7 million inhabitants, the governor already draws a script to gain visibility: after launch in the Northeast, Caiado intends to travel the southern and southeastern states.

Training doctor, Caiado has a long political career: he was a federal deputy for five terms and senator before taking over the Goian government. Born in Anápolis, a city 55 km from Goiânia, he comes from a traditional family of rural producers with strong political influence in the state.
