The government of Donald Trump has fired the director of the US National Security Agency (NSA), Timothy Haugh, the powerful cyber intelligence office, the CNN chain reported Friday.

The dismissal of General Haugh, who also leads the US cyber command (the offensive and defensive cyber unity of the Armed Forces), is an important Restructuring of the American Intelligence Communitywhich is experiencing significant changes in the first two months of the Trump government, according to the chain.

Wendy Noble, attached to Haugh in the NSA, was also dismissed, adds the chain, which cites members of the Senate Intelligence Committees and the Chamber of Representatives and two former officials familiar with the decision.

The Government has not specified the causes of the dismissals of Haugh and Noble, while Lieutenant General William Hartman, an experienced military officer and deputy director of the cyber command, will be expected to serve as the interim chief of the command and the NSA, according to the two former officials.

More layoffs

The news of the cessations occurred shortly after the dismissal of several members of the National Security Council, after Laura Loomer, a well -known extreme right activist, urpted Trump to do so during a meeting held on Wednesday, arguing that both were unfortunate.

Last month, Haugh received billionaire Elon Musk, who supervises the government efficiency department, at the headquarters of the NSA and the cybernetic command in Fort Meade, Maryland.

Some defense officials, both current and retired, affirm that there is a growing culture of fear among defense department officers, who fear being fired at any time by conduct considered insufficiently loyal to Trump.

The NSA is one of the most powerful and crucial espionage agencies of the US government. Their code deciphering and computer operators carry out intelligence operations worldwide that provide information to the president and their main advisors.

The cybernetic command was established more than a decade ago to combat the growing foreign threats in cyberspace and has evolved considerably since then.
