The S&P 500 index closed down on Monday after a volatile session, with investors concerned about economic slowdown and increased US president Donald Trump, remained firm over tariffs, warning that it can further increase import rates on China.
Wall Street’s actions have suffered since the announcement on Wednesday from Trump’s comprehensive tariffs on all imports for the US, with much higher rates for some of the leading business partners.
According to preliminary data, the S&P 500 lost 0.28%to 5,059.86 points. The Nasdaq technology index recorded a positive variation from 0.09%to 15,602.44 points. Dow Jones fell 0.93%to 37,958.19 points.
