After scoring between 3% and 6.5% of voting intentions in the survey of the Paraná research on the São Paulo government dispute in 2026, the former mayor of Santo André (SP) Paulo Serra (PSDB) met with seven mayors from São Paulo to publicize a possible pre-candidacy.

Interlocutors claim that the Serra score in the research was viewed as a breath within the PSDB. The acronym tries to rise

In January, PSD President Gilberto Kassab even publicly stated that he negotiated a merger with the PSDB, but so far the conversations have not advanced.

The former mayor of Santo André left the command of the municipality after two consecutive management, with an approval of 80.1%, according to Paraná Research. The toucan believes that the positive assessment is the main reason for scoring in the survey of who should command the state of São Paulo.

So far, he has met with the mayors of Guarulhos, Itaquaquecetuba, Sao Bernardo do Campo, Mauá, Diadema, Rio Grande da Serra, Arujá and Franco da Rocha.

The idea of Serra is to further intensify the agenda with mayors. In the coming days, the toucan should be in the municipalities of Marília and Cotia.

If the candidacy is consolidated, Paulo Serra may face from the right as the current mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) and what behind the scenes admit the intention to run for the Bandeirantes Palace.
