Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated that he is not “overly optimistic or pessimistic” about nuclear negotiations with the United States, in his first comment after the start of conversations between the US and Iran, which began on April 12 in Oman.
Both delegations described the negotiations as positive and agreed to meet once again on April 19, with Tehran claiming that the meeting will be held again in Mascate, the country’s capital.
“The conversations are one of the twelve dossiers accompanied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are neither overly optimistic nor pessimistic about them. After all, it is a process that was decided and their first steps were well implemented,” Khamenei said at a meeting with members of Parliament.
