When I was a kid, my grandmother taught me to knit a wreath from dandelions, I ran with him on my head all over the farm.
And I often saw the yellow wheel in the grass before I picked the dandelions, sometimes the bee settled. Then I was afraid that the bees would be on the wreath on my head. You know, children. My grandmother also told me that the bees were eating nectar from dandelions and then making honey.

The source of the nectar for the bees
Dandelions are a hearty source of nectar and pollen for bees. These plants with a yellow head can grow even in very small amounts of soil, so we often see them at sidewalks, but can also spread perfectly around the meadow and garden. For example, yours.
It is also a fact that many people immediately liquidate them from their gardens, in the worst case some pesticide. Which may be annoying for those who hold the opposite opinion, because dandelions invite bumblebees and various types of bees that collect pollen for their colony in the hive.

He has the need to convert green areas into huge food and goods, office buildings, the headquarters of companies and apartment buildings. Of course, this actions narrowly narrows the natural environment (not only) for bees. Therefore, every dandelion, even in your garden, is valuable.
What can be made of dandelions
- From the leaves you can prepare excellent salad. The leaves of the dandelion a little resemble the taste of the arugula. Dandelion salad normally belongs to Greek and French cuisine, there is no hocus attempt to make up so that people do not destroy dandelions. Dandelion leaves contain vitamin C, A and elements such as iron and calcium, resulting in strengthening the immune system.
- Dandelion is made from the flowers with. For me it is excellent with a delicious taste. It adequately replaces the better known honey of meadow and forest.
- Roasted or dried roots can serve as coffee substitutebecause the bitter taste is a little reminiscent of the taste of espresso. There is no need to look for herbalism, just collect dandelions with roots, then dry and grind. Finally, pour hot water as if you were preparing a “turk”.
