The Ukraine Security Service (SBU) – the Ukrainian Intelligence – reported that a Russian “double agent”, in charge of killing the commanders of the Ukraine Armed Forces in the Yavoriv training field, was arrested, as they have published .
The military counterintelligence unit, with the assistance of the commander in chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, arrested the double agent in the Lviv region, wrote the Press Service of the SBU. According to reports, the suspect worked simultaneously for FSB and Russian military intelligence (Gru).
The investigation showed that the suspect worked as an instructor in the Yavoriv training field. “His mission in the Gru was to prepare terrorist attacks against the Ukrainian commanders who received military training at the Local Defense Forces Center,” the SBU said.
The agent allegedly received “Blanca” from his supervisor to choose the execution method. “In one of the ‘scenarios’, the traitor had to put together an improvised explosive device (FDI) and secretly place it in the headquarters or in a training building,” the officers wrote.
Another plan was to deceive a colleague so that, without knowing it, he took an explosive camouflaged to a place where the commanders were present. Another method considered by the alleged infiltrate involved an attack with Russian missiles, using the coordinates of the exact place where the Ukrainian forces gathered in the training field, as explained by the same medium.
The man has been formally accused by virtue of section 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for high treason committed during martial law. He is detained without bail and, if declared guilty, could be sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of goods.
