Representative requested $ 70,000 in compensation after being called “Human Fake News” by Sérgio Maurício

The federal deputy (PSOL-SP) filed a lawsuit against narrator Sérgio Maurício, from Bandrequesting compensation of R $ 70,000 for moral damages. The motivation was a publication made by Sérgio Maurício on platform X (formerly Twitter), in which he referred to the congressman as a “fake news humana”.

The case is processed at the 6th Civil Court of the TJ-SP (São Paulo Court of Justice). The petition was filed on the last Monday (14.ab.2025) and, so far, there is no date set for the trial. Sérgio Maurício should be notified in the coming days to submit his defense, according to information released by S.Paulo Folha.

Erika Hilton did not process the Bandstation in which Sérgio Maurício works, only the narrator. The deputy said in the action that her image was impaired by Sérgio Maurício on more than one occasion because of the post made at X.

The episode took place in February, when Sérgio Maurício published a message on social networks calling the deputy “fake news human, this thing ”. Shortly thereafter, the profile responsible for the post was erased. In a 1st moment, the narrator denied the authorship of the publication.

A few days later, however, he changed his version and after negative repercussions on social networks.

“I recognize that I used inadequate words by referring to Mrs Erika Hilton, for whom I have great respect. I apologize to her, her voters and all who may have been offended.”he declared.

Due to the episode, Sérgio Maurício was left out of the transmissions of the preseason of Formula 1 in Band. However, he returned to the official racing coverage in March and has been a narrator ever since.
