The Attorney General of the State of Amazonas (PGE-AM) signed a tax agreement with the gradient, in the amount of R $ 27.7 million-or R $ 30.8 million, including the procedural costs, according to a report in the newspaper Valor.
The payment was made in cash at the end of March, with a maximum discount of 65% on fines and interest, resulting in a 46% reduction on the original liabilities, estimated by about $ 56 million.

The judge responsible for the case had already approved the termination of judicial recovery in 2023, but on the condition that the gradient would regularize his tax debts. According to Amazonas Attorney General Giordano Bruno Costa da Cruz, negotiations with the gradient extended for about a year. The debt, for the most part, refers to ICMS not collected between 2000 and 2010. “We grant the maximum allowed discounts on interest and fine for the final value to adapt to the company’s cash flow,” he explained to the newspaper.
