Vasil Georgiev Vasilev has been accused of drug trafficking and has resided in Brazil since January 2023; Measure was taken as a response to Bolsonaro’s supporter’s negative negative Blogger Oswaldo Eustáquio by the Spanish government
The minister of the Federal Supreme Court () decided to suspend the extradition of Bulgarian Vasil Georgiev Vasilev, 49, in response to the denial of extradition of Blogging Blogger, Oswaldo Eustáquio, by the Spain government. Vasilev was arrested on February 18 this year in Mato Grosso do Sul. He is accused in Drug Trafficking and resides in Brazil since January 2023. According to Interpol’s report, Vasil Georgiev Vasilev “participated in the transportation in Barcelona residence, in a total of 52 kg of cocaine”, on November 26, 2022. It should deliver the next day, November 27, as well as investigated in the case Francisco López Dominguez. Investigations point out that Vasil was filmed entering two bags in the condominium that lived in Barcelona on the 26th.
The next day, Francisco López Dominguez left the same condominium with what the Spanish authorities point to the two suitcases of Vasil. López Dominguez was arrested the same day. Bulgarian remained in Barcelona for a few days and then traveled to Sofia, Bulgaria, where he remained with his family until January 21, 2023. At that date, he, his wife and son left for Turkey, later to Paraguay and, finally, to Brazil. Arriving in the country, Vasil would have decided, according to his defense, to remain resident in Ponta Porã, Mato Grosso do Sul.
At the time, Vasil was a partner of a transport company in the city of Barcelona. Married, Bulgarian have two children, one of them with autism. In response to a request from the Justice of Spain on November 6, 2024, the STF issued an arrest request against Vasil on November 28, 2024. The warrant was fulfilled about three months later, on February 18, 2025. “Security cameras images only show Vasil entering the condominium with bags, without any evidence that they were the same as Francisco,” says the defense.
According to lawyer Rodrigo Santana, there is “lack of direct correlation between Vasil and the narcotics seized. There are no filming or witnesses confirming the alleged delivery of the bags containing drugs. And there are inconsistencies in the search and seizure diligence: the Spanish police would have invaded Vasil’s apartment without precise identification of the property, which would compromise the legality of the collected evidence”. In a custody hearing, after the prison determined by the Supreme Court, Vasil said he worked with transportation and internet services and earned about 5,000 euros.
