Rome – The number of seaside resorts in Italy awarded the “Blue Flag” has increased. This year, a total of 257 coastal communities, some with several beaches, as well as 87 tourist ports, were honored, as the responsible Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) announced. In 2026, the number of Italian beaches awarded the “Blue Flag” will increase to a total of 525. This corresponds to around 11.6 percent of all beaches awarded worldwide.
