COP30’s main space is 80% ready, says Government of Pará

City Park will house the main areas of the conference; The State carries out more than 30 works in Belém and organization says that enterprises are within the schedule

The Government of Pará this Thursday (24.ab.2025) that the works in the City Park, the main stage of the discussions of the (United Nations Conference on Climate Change), are 80% completed. The update was released during an event that marked the 200 -day countdown to the beginning of the conference, which will be held in November in Belém.

The Park will house the two main areas of the event: the green zone, dedicated to the participation of civil society, and the Blue Zone, which will receive heads of state and international authorities.

The work is part of a set of more than 30 projects executed by the state government for the preparation of COP. Interventions cover infrastructure, mobility, sanitation, urban development and tourism.

The deputy governor and president of the State Committee of the Conference, (MDB), repeated what (MDB), and the, André Corrêa do Lago: the works are within the planned technical schedule.

Balance of the works

As showed the Poder360Belém goes through an intensive works to receive COP30. Reforms are made at the city’s main sights, causing inconvenience and traffic in the surroundings, even on weekend and holiday.

According to the Government of Pará, since December 2024, 3 works have been delivered: the BR-316 viaduct with the road strap and the Timbó and Gentil channels.

In the sanitation area, macrodrainage works are underway in 4 watersheds, involving 13 channels, which should benefit more than 500,000 residents of the capital of Pará.
