Homeless resident is injured with stabbed in the chest in Rio Branco

The homeless resident and drug addict Francisca Gomes da Silva, 36, was injured with a knife blow on public roads on Friday, 25, on Floriano Peixoto Street, near the Papa Hotel in downtown Rio Branco.

According to information from the victim herself, she consumed alcohol on the street with another homeless woman when the two began a discussion because of a “buchinha” (alcohol). Annoyed, the other woman – also a chemical dependent – in possession of a table knife, struck a blow that hit Francisca’s chest. Even injured, the victim still managed to walk to the base of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and ask for help.

Francisca told the report that she is pregnant, although she does not know for sure the period of gestation. Maternity staff reported that she has had eleven children. The latter was born in an abandoned building on José de Melo Street, in the Bosque neighborhood, on September 29, 2023. At the time, she had to be rescued by a fire brigade garrison and an ambulance from Samu.

The Military Police were not called to meet the occurrence.
