US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday that he had interactions with Chinese representatives last week during the International Monetary Fund meetings in Washington, but did not discuss the impasse about President Donald Trump’s fares.
with Trump saying conversations are happening, while China denies that any dialogue has occurred.
“I had an interaction with my Chinese counterpart, but it was more about traditional things, such as financial stability and global economic warnings,” Bessent said on ABC’s ‘This Week’. “I don’t know if President Trump spoke to President XI (Jinping).”
