A woman of Italian nationality was given as missing on Sunday in a rural area in Monchique, Faro district, told the Portuguese source of the Algarve Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
The warning of the disappearance of the 79 -year -old woman was given around 18:25, in the town of Portela Baixa, Monchique municipality.
At 23:50 on Sunday the searches still took place with elements of the and the Monchique Municipal Civil Protection Service, with the support of drones, said the same source.
Asked by Lusa, that command gave no more details about the circumstances of the woman’s disappearance.
According to Civil Protection information, in the terrestrial search and rescue operation were involved nine operational supported by four means.
