Man throws a car against dozens of people in Canada; 11 died

Attack took place at a Filipina community festival in Vancouver

A man driving a black car advanced against dozens of people on Saturday night (26) during a Filipine community festival in Vancouver, Canada. According to local police, 11 people died and more than 20 were injured.

The attack took place at 20h, local time (midnight in Brasília), in the Sunset On Fraser area. The man threw his car at high speed against food stalls. The Filipino Festival is known as Lapu Lapu, and usually attracts large crowds.

The 30 -year -old suspect has police record, police said at a press conference after the incident.

The Vancouver Sun newspaper said the suspect has mental health problems and when he was being interrogated asked to “excuse” people who watched the scene, asking them not to film his face with cell phones.

This Sunday (27), Canada Prime Minister Mark Carney ruled out that there is an “active threat about the Canadians.” The police authorities have already excluded the hypothesis of terrorism.
