An inspection operation by Amazonian rivers seized more than 1 ton Last Friday (25), near the municipality of Óbidos, in western Pará.
The crime was discovered by agents of the Military and Civil Police of the Candiru river base, during two actions against vessels sailing the Amazon River.
According to investigations, the material, identified as skank marijuana and “chopped paper” made from cocaine, left Manaus (AM) to Santarém (PA).
The first blatant occurred during a routine inspection in the pusher “Flower of the Earth”, where 153 marijuana tablets were found, totaling 166,625 kg.
The drugs were hidden in vehicle bodywork compartments transported by the vessel and were located with the help of the Single Single Dog. The material has been seized and will be inspected.
In the second approach, in the pushing “Ana Beatriz”, also on the way to Santarém, the dog signaled the presence of drugs in 18 bags of “chopped paper”, weighing approximately 850 kg.
A Narcoteste performed by teams from the IRS pointed out that the material was produced with cocaine – a new type of narcotics transportation, identified and intercepted for the first time in Pará.
According to initial investigations, the drug carried in this format makes it difficult to detect electronic equipment. However, thanks to the performance of sniffer dogs, the loading was seized.
Also during the search inside the “Ana Beatriz” vessel, agents found six skank tablets hidden in the bathroom lining, totaling 3.677 kg.
Because it is an area of free circulation of passengers and crew, it was not possible to identify those responsible for the drug, which was also seized.
According to police, the total seized in both vessels was. All material was referred to the Candiru base for expertise procedures.
The vessel commanders were heard and the case is still under investigation to identify the main responsible for trafficking.
