Conference in Albufeira Debate Urban Bureaucracy and the impacts of the new “Soil Law”

This Wednesday, April 30, the Alísios Hotel, in Albufeira, hosts the conference “Build on Rustic Soil-the law in force”, a National Meeting that brings together experts, political decision makers and representatives of various professional orders to discuss the effects of the new soil law (), focusing on the bureaucracy of urban licensing.

Organized by António Góis Nóbregaurban planner with vast published work, the event takes place among the 09h00 e as 17h00 and intends to launch a critical reflection on the role of urban legislation in the current housing crisis and in the functioning of society.

“Urban Simplex” and frustration with bureaucracy

One of the central themes of the event will be the Failure of the “Urban Simplex”which, according to the organizers, “in the overwhelming majority of municipalities, did not produce any concrete results.” Despite the promises of bureaucracy and speed in licensing processesreality shows that the system remains complex, lengthy and opaque.

The new soil law arises in a context in which the Bureaucracy is pointed out as one of the biggest obstacles to the reinforcement of the housing park. The Conference on the New Soil Law is promoted by Century 21 Realty Art and by Asmipwith the support of Order of Engineers and social communication partners such as the Postal do Algarveo DiárioNline Southern Region and CNN Portugalthe latter in special collaboration with Century 21.

According to António Nóbrega, “the objective is that the conclusions will be discussed with the authorities responsible for the planning and management of the territory, contributing to more coherent, poor and grounded decisions.”
