36 -year -old Ruci Batt could not imagine that a moment of his own entertainment would make a video attack on the Bisaran Valley in Palgam on April 22, with 26 dead.
Batt makes a zipline and videotape the route. . People start running and a person falls to the ground. “As you can see, I pulled it out for fun. I didn’t even know there was a shot. But (the attack) was recorded in my video … “he told Indian Express.
“I realized that it was a terrorist attack about 20 seconds after the start of the route when I saw 4-5 people with bullet wounds down. In the first 2-3 shots I did not understand (that it was a terrorist attack). But when the shots rose and I saw 2-3 people falling down, then I realized that it was a terrorist attack, “said Batt, who pulled the video with his cellphone and a selfie stick.
“When I understood it (towards the end of the route), my wife and son were shouting at me, stopped the recording and jumped. My wife told me that two people from two families were killed (by terrorists) after asking their religion, “he added.
Batt showed the video to a police officer in Ahmedabad. “This (the officer) must have been investigating on his part and after three days he allowed me to share it with the media and others,” he said.
