The 2025 Copa Libertadores final will be played in Lima, Peru, on November 29, the President of Conmebol, Alejandro Domínguez, announced on Monday (28).
“We see each other on November 29 to experience a new edition of Eternal Glory,” said the coach on social networks, inviting fans to the Peruvian capital.
Domínguez did not specify which stadium will host the match through the trophy of the main club tournament in South America, although an entity source told AFP that it will be the monumental stadium.
Lima won the dispute with the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasilia, nominated in December by CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation).
The centenary of Montevideo was also in the dispute, Domínguez said last year.
Since 2019, the Copa Libertadores final has been played in a single match and on a neutral field. That year, the decision was made precisely in Lima, in the confrontation in which Flamengo beat River Plate.
Previously, the title was played in round trip duels at the final team stadiums.
Since the format change, the main match of the tournament has also been played in Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Guayaquil and Buenos Aires.
