The nun Inah Canabarro Lucas, the oldest person in the world, died on Wednesday (30) in Porto Alegre (RS), at 116 years and 326 days.
With death, the title of older person in the world now passes to Ethel Caterham, a resident of Surrey, England, who is currently 115 and 252 days, according to the Longeviquest.

Inah was born in São Francisco de Assis, Rio Grande do Sul, on May 27, 1908, according to the Archdiocese of Porto Alegre. Like a fragile child, doctors doubted her to survive.
She lived in the state capital and was part of the congregation of Santa Teresa de Jesus. Sister Inah is from the family of General Canabarro, one of the leaders of the Farroupilha Revolution (1835-1945). The woman entered the company of Santa Teresa de Jesus at the age of 19.
In 2018, when celebrating her 110th birthday, she received an apostolic blessing from Pope Francis. Asked about the secret of his longevity, she gives him God: “He is the secret of life. He is the secret of everything,” commented to the longend.
When the sister was born, the Guild had 5 years of foundation. She, however, hopes for the Internacional, founded 11 months after her sister’s birth.
