Had two representatives on the podium this Sunday (4) in the Warsaw Stage of the World Athletic March Circuit. Olympic runner-up and world ranking leader Caio Bonfim got the silver medal at a distance of 20 km. Already in the female, Viviane Lyra completed the podium and took the bronze.
Bonfim took the time of 1h21min34s and was only behind Japanese Toshiaki Yamanishi, the race recorder, who snatched the gold by making 1h20min50. Kazuki Takahashi (1h22min55s), also from Japan, finished the dispute in third place.

Satisfied with the performance, the Brazilian commented on his performance and stated that the result was important in the face of the competition of his opponents. The athlete also said that he had to exceed a health problem to compete at a high level. “I am very happy with the silver medal. We lost to the world record holder, in a difficult race, with a lot of wind. A week ago I had influenza and was a lot of struggle to recover my body and get here ready to compete. I am very proud of the result, because I can go back to Brazil to continue work,” he said.

In the female, the final stretch presented a dispute between Paula Torres, from Ecuador, and Kimberly Garcia, from Peru. The race was decided in the last 50 meters and for a difference of a second in favor of the Ecuadorian, who made the mark of 1h28min29s. Viviane Lyra, who even led the race, was third with the time of 1h28min54s.

Viviane, who already has an index for the Tokyo World Championship in Japan, comes from Victory in the South American Mar del Plata. In March, she won the 20 km from the Brazil Marching Cup in Sao Paulo, and was fifth in Dudience, Slovakia, 35 km.
