Brazil registered 1,641 fire outbreaks in April 2025, a drop of 37.2% over the same period last year, when 2,613 type occurrences were recorded.
The cerrado concentrates the largest portion of the fire outbreaks, with 595 – or 36.3%. The data are from the system of the (National Institute for Space Research).
Bahia is the state with the largest number of burning, with 331 outbreaks registered in the last month. Following are Mato Grosso (222) and Rio Grande do Sul (160).
The 6 Brazilian biomes recorded the incidence of fire. The Atlantic Forest had the 2nd largest number of occurrences of the type, with 334 outbreaks –20.4% of the total.
From January 1st to April 30, 2025, the country has 8,954 fire outbreaks.

Than in the same period last year. On April 16 by the Mapbiomas Fire Monitor, indicate that 913 thousand hectares were devastated by fire in the first 3 months of this year, compared to 3 million hectares from January to March 2024.
