Berlin – The Union Group in the German Bundestag chose the former Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) with a result of more than 90 percent as the successor to Friedrich Merz as the new chairman. According to the faction, he received 91.3 percent of the vote, although the Union does not take into account abstentions.
