Almost all of Slovakia is bothering drought: in these parts of the country desperately lacking moisture

In the deeper layer is extremely drought, especially in the northeast of Slovakia, in Orava, Povazie, Turiec, Upper Nitra and locally in the Little Carpathians and Záhorie, ”said meteorologists.

Soil moisture deficit is the highest minus 60 to minus 100 millimeters locally in Považie, Orava, Upper Nitra and in the Little Carpathians. The excess of moisture is observed by SHMI up to 20 millimeters locally around Medzilaborce.

Last week, according to experts, the most rainfall fell ten to 25 millimeters rarely in the Banská Bystrica region and locally on the Danube Lowland, Zemplin and the extreme northeast. There were rainfall around Tornale and in the middle and upper Povazie. “For most of the week it was mostly relatively cold and cloudy,” He claims SHMI. The highest temperature was 21 degrees Celsius around Pezinok on Saturday (10. 5.). The lowest temperature minus five degrees Celsius measured in Orava and in the Slovak Paradise.
