The documentary begins by addressing the difficult times in adapting a 18 -year -old to a “new world” in Spain. No, the player had a complicated beginning and ended up being “relegated” to the merengues team B.

Criticism against Vinicius Júnior began to appear everywhere, even inside the meringue cast.

In 2020, in the Real Madrid match against Borussia Monchengladbach for, Frenchman Karim Benzema was caught talking to Ferland Mendy and asking the back not to touch the ball to Vini, because he was “disturbing and playing against”.

At the time, Vini Jr. fans broke into Benzema’s social networks asking for respect to the Brazilian star.

In “Baila, Vini”, Karim admits that he said the sentence, but did not give much relevance to the theme.

“These are football things, normal things. He’s like a younger brother, so I can say these things. For me, in this game, he didn’t do well. I was angry with what he did on the field, because I know it’s better than that,” said the striker who currently plays at Al-Ittihad.

In Netflix’s documentary, Vini recalls the case and reinforces the friendship built with Benzema in Real Madrid.

“Benzema talked to me and stated that I had said that because I was a ‘warm head’, because I knew my potential. Since my first day here (in the real), he was the one who helped me most,” he said.

Successful partnership

After the troubled beginning, Benzema and Vini understood themselves very well on the field, stacking cups with the Real Madrid shirt.

Together for the merengues, the duo played 192 matches, with 122 wins, 34 draws and only 36 losses.

Karim Benzema and Vinicius won 8 titles running the Madrid attack. Among them, the Champions League in the 2021/2022 season.
