Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), defendant in the context of the investigation of the preparation of a coup plan in the country, said on Friday (16), that if convicted, he will not run away from Brazil, even if he has received advice to do so.
“Some say that I should leave Brazil. I will not leave Brazil, attach me, put. It is planned forty years in jail, attach me,” he said in an interview with Radio Auriverde.
According to him, there was no coup and the accusations are wrong: “What crime? Impossible crime, from Minnie and Donald Duck.”
The Federal Supreme Court (STF), accused of the following crimes:
- Armed criminal organization;
- of the Democratic Rule of Law;
- Coup d’etat;
- Damage qualified by violence and serious threat against the union’s assets, and with considerable damage to the victim;
- Deterioration of listed assets.

“I’m 70 years old already, I almost died in the last surgery, I’m going to die, it won’t be long. We are being an arc that can be resisted. … I have forty years in the loin, I have no appeal to anywhere, I’m going to die in jail.”
During the interview, he supported the narrative that has been presenting since the first facts about the investigation began to appear.
“The system wants to get me out of the political radar because we are aware, we have humility to talk to people, seek information and say the right things,” he added.
