An investigation is underway
A car-bomb exploded near a market in southwest Pakistan, killing four people and injuring another 20, authorities said today.
The attack took place on Sunday night in Qillah Abdullah, a city in Baluchistan province, next to the Afghanistan border, Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Riaz said.
The explosion also damaged the outer wall of a nearby building that houses paramilitary forces, Riaz said.
No group has so far assumed responsibility for the attack, but separatists from the local ethnic minority often attack the security forces and civilians in Baluchistan and other parts of the country.
Baluchistan government spokesman Shahid Rind sentenced the attack and said an investigation is underway.
Baluchistan has been the scene of a longtime insurgency in Pakistan, with a series of separatist groups to make attacks, including the Baluchistan Liberation Army, a movement that was made illegal by the Pakistani justice and designated as a terrorist organization by the United States in 2019.
