With the theme ‘Poverty, Hunger and Health: Interconnections for a Sustainable Future’, event takes place this Monday (19) in hybrid format; Registration is free
Thinking about the future and economic growth aligned with global goals, the Federation of Hotels, Restaurants and Bars of the State of São Paulo () will promote a journey of debates with the accommodation and food sector. Experts from various areas will share their experiences and present actions that meet the Sustainable Development Goals (ODSS) established by the United Nations ().
With the theme “Poverty, Hunger and Health: Interconnections for a Sustainable Future”, the first event takes place this Monday (19), from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, in hybrid format. With limited vacancies, the face -to -face modality will take place at FHORESP headquarters, in São Paulo (Largo do Arouche, 290, 7th floor – Historic Center).
In all, the Federation will promote six meetings, one per month. Each event will focus on the Global UN goals that should be achieved by 2030, with the aim of eradicating poverty and protecting the planet. The organization of the meetings is the director of Environment and Sustainability of FHORESP, José Valverde.
Representing more than 500,000 establishments in the state of São Paulo, the Federation has been aligned with the most current discussions on the market for the environment. The entity was, for example, one of the supporters of the sustainable turn, the largest event in Latin America on the subject. Held in 2024, the initiative eventually served as inspiration for Fhoresp to sensitize the entire trade regarding the responsible growth. One of the initiatives in this regard is the Meetings Fhoresp Sustainability series, focused on the UN SDGs.
According to Federation’s executive director Edson Pinto, the accommodation and food sector has a strong influence on the economic and environmental fields: “We understand that Fhoresp also needs to act as a protagonist of this debate on sustainable development. We want to involve the entire ecosystem of our segment, which also encompasses industries and the entire chain of suppliers,” he list.
The speakers of the event on Monday are Carlos Fernandes, expert in public policies and former executive secretary of food and nutritional security of the City of São Paulo; Lucélia Elizabeth Paiva, Representative of the Protect Lives Project; Cláudia Florêncio, executive manager of the triangle institute; Ivan Mello, from the Environmental Blog; and Jair do Amaral, president of the Paulista Federation of Recycling Cooperatives (Fepacoore). The mediation of the panels will be in charge of the National Coordinator of the Sustainable Virada, Natália Duarte.

The meeting will be held from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, at Fhoresp headquarters, in Largo do Arouche. Free, registrations must be made directly on the entity’s official website (). Subscribers may participate in person or remotely. The next events already have defined dates: 16/6, 18/8, 9/15, 13/10 and 10/11.
