Government rules out three cases of avian flu; Three follows in investigation

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) ruled out three investigations of avian flu caused by the virus of High Pathogenicity Aviary Influenza (IAAP) on the afternoon of Monday (19).

The cases considered negative were:

  • Nova Brasilândia (MT) – Subsistence creation
  • GRANCHO CARDOSO (SE) – SUBSISTANCE CREATION
  • Triunfo (RS) – Subsistence creation (area within 10 km from Montenegro;

Three other cases follow under analysis:

  • Aguiarnópolis (TO) – Commercial Granja
  • Ipumumarim (SC) – Commercial farm
  • Salitre (CE) – Domestic production for subsistence

To date, the confirmed cases are in Montenegro (RS) in a commercial farm and Sapucaia do Sul (RS), 60 km from the first focus of the disease, in wild swans.
