Newly philuted to PSDthe governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leiteattended the meeting of the bench in the House of Representatives on Tuesday (20).
. In addition, the governor assumed the presidency of Gilberto Kassab’s party in Rio Grande do Sul.
After the bench meeting, Leite spoke with the press and reaffirmed his presidential candidacy in 2026.
“I am a presidential candidate. It is a legitimate aspiration of those who were mayor, governor and wants to contribute to Brazil. My personal aspiration does not override the interest as a citizen that we build an alternative to this polarization,” said the governor.
However, Leite also did not rule out the possibility of supporting the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior (PSD), if he decides to build an application.
“I see in PSD a party that is gathering several leaders interested in making an alternative project for Brazil, among them Governor Ratinho. Very successful in Paraná. We will be next to each other building this future. If he performs as a candidate and go to the end, let’s go together,” said Leite.
