Despite the closure of these markets, the minister stressed that Brazil has 120 countries completely open to Brazilian chicken. He added that 70% of national production is consumed in the domestic market.
“Of course there will be an impact, but nothing alarming.” Our expectation is, after we disclose that Brazil is free, to move forward with all the restricted countries. Allah there, it is not recommended that we ask something for some country.
The minister emphasized that the Avian flu virus has been in the world for at least 30 years and, 19 years ago, in commercial farms. Brazil, during this period, became the only major producer of chicken meat and eggs without the virus in its plants.

– The presence of the virus in Brazilian territory is the result of migratory birds. One day, for one reason or another, it would end up happening on commercial farms, ”said Fávaro, adding that 17,000 animals were slaughtered in Brazil.
