At least two civilians died in a nighttime attack by a Ukrainian drone on Russia’s Belgorod region, where a building was damaged and a fire broke out. The Russian military claims to have destroyed 31 drones.
At least two civilians were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian border region of Belgorod, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced on Monday. TASR writes about it according to an AFP report.
The night attack hit the building, which was engulfed in fire and partially collapsed. “Rescuers pulled out the bodies of two people,” Gladkov wrote on the Telegram social network. The Ukrainian army did not immediately comment on the incident in the town of Stary Oskol.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said it destroyed 31 Ukrainian drones on Monday night, most of them over the Belgorod region.
Russia has repeatedly attacked energy facilities in Ukraine, leaving thousands of people in the cold without electricity or heat. In response to almost daily bombing during the almost four-year-long war, Ukraine is also attacking Russian territory, targeting energy infrastructure and oil refineries in particular.
