Another time of fires and in protected areas approaches fires have an added impact, and therefore the preventive management of the forest gains even greater importance. SIC went to know what was done in some areas of the Montesinho Natural Park, in Bragança.
Forest cleaning is the first step towards conservation and at the same time to protect it from fires.

Integrated Areas of Landscape Management
It is also with the objective of making the forest more protected from the fires that the integrated areas of landscape management were created. In all, there are 64 across the country, covering about 100,000 hectares in zones more vulnerable to fireworks.
Most of the intervention areas, which provide for cleaning and new forest and agricultural plantations, are located on vacant lots, but also on private properties. The goal is to keep the territory busy.
And for these interventions 240 million euros from PRR.
