The European Commission fined Monday to a total of 329 million euros the delivery companies of Glovo and Delivery Hero by sector cartelization, violating the rules of the European Union (EU) competition (EU).

The infraction lasted four years and covered the European economic space (EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), but having the hero acquired from Glovo.
The European Commission found that, between July 2018 and July 2022, Delivery Hero and Glovo progressively eliminated competitive pressures between the two companies.
According to the press release, Delivery Hero and Glovo are two of Europe’s largest food delivery companies, and can be ordered – through an application or website – grocery products and other retail products (non -food).
In July 2018, Delivery Hero acquired a minority participation, without control, at Glovo And it was progressively increasing this participation through subsequent investments.
In July 2022, Delivery Hero acquired the total control of Glovo.
