Viktor Orbán calls for Hungary protection in the face of a longer war in Ukraine and increasing political pressure due to his peaceful position. The State Defense Council responds to the risks.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán summoned the Council of Defense of the State on Monday, because in his opinion the war in Ukraine will be longer and brutal, while the Western alliance has weakened. Referring to the index.hu server informs the TASR newsletter in Budapest.

Orbán noted in the post on Facebook that Hungary is under increasing political pressure and increased secret service activity because of “occupying peace attitude”.

“The military actions that have occurred in recent days suggest that the war will be longer and brutal than we expected at the beginning of the year,” wrote the Prime Minister, according to which the transatlantic unity must have been sharply disturbed.

Hungary stands on the peace side

Among the forces promoting peace led by US President Donald Trump and leaders in Brussels and Kiev, who want the war to continue, has never been such a large gap, said Orbán and stressed that Hungary continues to stand on the peace side and will be able to promote this attitude even more.

“We must be prepared for the fact that secret services operations, defamation campaigns and war propaganda deployed against Hungary will continue with even more dynamics than before,” the Prime Minister underlined. Due to the war situation and risks to national security, Orbán therefore called a meeting of the State Defense Council on Monday afternoon. “We are preparing and we will protect Hungary and Hungarian families!” closed.
