This year’s focus is on solutions for plastic pollution, highlighting actions such as rethinking product design, promoting reuse systems and adopting circularity.
The province of Jeju was chosen as the headquarters of the initiative. Jeju Island aims to become a zero trash island by 2040. Through bold policies and innovative technologies, Jeju is working to dramatically reduce plastic use and improve waste management systems.
